The Challenge

There are very few things in life that don't require some type of effort for success.  In fact, I have yet to identify any thing, other than smiling, I can be successful at without effort, and at times even that can be hard.

Track and Field is a sport that is based on individual effort. What you put into it is what you get out of it. 'A talented athlete who doesn't put in the hard work is just talented.'  "Hard work will beat talent when talent doesn't work hard."  This is one of the same principals in life.  To be successful you must work at it.

Success for me is measured by my intended goal or purpose and could require more than one try.  A dictionary definition of success is: An event that accomplishes its intended purpose.

I challenge you to find a purpose or goal for your summer season.  One of the keys to success is to recognize that you need a purpose or goal.  Identify what you must do or what you need for that goal or purpose.  Plan the best method to work towards your intended purpose or goal.  Finally, achieve your purpose or goal.  RIPA (Recognize, Identify, Plan, Achieve) a four step plan for success.

If I or any of the other coaches can help you take the challenge, please let us know.
